He learned to make computers faster and cheaper. The Internet has become fast and wireless. Computer chips were getting smaller and smaller, until everyone in their pocket had a powerful computer. Each innovation was like a new spinach truck for the Colossus of Man. But today the Colossus of Man has laid eyes on something more than just more spinach. Computers changed the rules of the game, allowing humanity to outsource many brain-related tasks and function better as a separate organism. But there is one thing that working brain computers do not know how to do. Think. Computers can calculate, organize and run complex software - software that can even learn by itself . But they can not think the way people can. The Colossus of Man knows that everything he built has generated his ability to reason creatively and independently, and he knows that the ultimate instrument of brain expansion will be one that can really really think. He has no idea what will happen when the Colossus of Computers starts thinking on his own - when one day he opens his eyes and becomes a real colossus - but with his main goal - to create value and bring technology to the limit - the Colossus of Man is determined to find out. * * * We will return to this later.
