Swati Maliwal Assault Case LIVE Updates: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has come out in support of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar, alleging that Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal was the face of Bharatiya Janata Party’s conspiracy. Later, Kumar was arrested by the Delhi Police from Kejriwal’s residence. Addressing a press conference on Friday, AAP leader and Delhi minister Atishi said that all the allegations made by Maliwal against Kumar were baseless and untrue as she was sent by BJP to target Kejriwal. Delhi Police personnel along with a Forensic Science Laboratory team on Friday visited the Delhi Chief Minister’s residence. According to sources, police collected relevant CCTV footage of the alleged incident. Police also took Maliwal to the CM’s residence to recreate the crime scene of the alleged assault on her. Meanwhile, Kumar has filed a counter-police complaint against Maliwal, alleging she breached the security of the CM’s residence to gain unauthorised entry on May 13 and created a ruckus there. He said that when Kumar tried to stop her she hurled abuses at him. In his complaint filed via an e-mail to the Civil Lines Police Station SHO, Kumar said now she was trying to falsely implicate him to create undue pressure on him. Maliwal has already filed an FIR against Kumar alleging that he assaulted her when she had gone to meet Kejriwal at his official residence on May 13. On Friday she attacked her party for dismissing as baseless her assault allegations against Kumar and said the AAP has given in under a “goon’s pressure” and is now questioning her character. AAP, she said, has taken a “U-turn” two days after it accepted that Kumar had “misbehaved” with her.
